Helping Homeowners and Businesses Conserve Energy and Save Money
In early 2022, members of the Home & Business Action Team put together a brochure, Lowering Your Utility Bill, to hand out to area residents. This brochure is for people who own or rent their dwellings. It gives useful and practical advice about easy measures anyone can take to conserve energy in their homes. It also provides contact information for agencies in our area who can give further help in these efforts.

2021 Grow Solar Sauk County Program
During 2021, PUB helped promote the 2021 Group Buy Program for solar photovoltaic panels for homeowners and small business owners in Sauk County. This program enabled homeowners around Sauk County to participate in a group buy for installation of solar electric panels on their homes. The program was a partnership between the Midwest Renewable Energy Association and several local organizations, including Powered Up Baraboo. PUB's role in this project was to share information about the 2021 Solar Sauk County program and host one or more of the virtual information sessions. The MREA reports a total of 28 properties participated in the 2021 Grow Solar Sauk County program, resulting in 235.06kW of new solar capacity. 218 people registered for one of the 15 webinars held in the 2021 Solar Sauk County program. In 2021, the solar installers worked together to deliver over 95 site assessments and cost estimates to help local residents determine whether solar was right for them.
